Parents naturally have hopes and dreams for their children. But, I believe that the primary challenge of parenthood is to support our children in following their own, unique paths. Consulting with me about your child can help you to:
- Gain a better understanding of your child
- Discover your child’s innate strengths and abilities
- Improve your relationship with your child
- Identify and address common emotional, behavioral, social and academic issues
- Promote your child’s optimal growth and development
Parent consultations can be conducted over the phone or in person.
Counseling for Children
Intuitive counseling sessions can help your child learn to connect to his or her innate intuitive abilities to improve their quality of life. These sessions can also address common childhood concerns such as behavior, social and/or academic issues, anxiety and depressed mood, learning and attention difficulties, and autistic spectrum disorders. Sessions combine intuitive guidance and traditional counseling techniques including cognitive-behavioral interventions, expressive arts, and play therapy. My goal is to develop a strong and trusting bond with your child so as to facilitate his or her mental, emotional and spiritual growth. Counseling sessions are conducted at my office in Westport, CT.
For Children with Disabilities
As a parent of a child with learning differences, I understand the many challenges of parenting an atypical child. Through my work as a counselor, I have extensive experience working with children diagnosed with a variety of disabilities including LDs, ADHD, ASD, anxiety and emotional difficulties. Using my intuition as well as my knowledge of cognitive and developmental psychology, I can see beyond the diagnosis and help parents learn how to best support their child.
Workshops support children in discovering the “magic within” as they learn to effectively use and manage their innate, intuitive abilities. These sessions will also help children develop other essential life skills such as cultivating mindfulness, regulating emotions and maintaining healthy boundaries.
